Background Community-Based Management (CBM) is an approach which encourages local community’s adaptive participation in all phases of marine resources management, including those of the coral reef ecosystem. It is envisioned that through such approach, communities would be more involved in sustainable use of these resources thereby improving their welfare. CBM is one of the key components of COREMAP II that will determine its successful implementation.
